Has anyone marked out the locations of each drop-off? I know the guide mentions general locations, but I'm looking for something a little more specific. I'd love coordinates, but even city blocks would do.

I'm curious if there's a pattern with regards to the location in relation to the location of the safehouse. If there's a way to predict where another drop-off might happen.

I didn't realize the drop-offs also coincided with a festival of some kind. The second, third, and fourth didn't have anything. The twelfth was the monster situation. Ninth and fifteenth too, though those are New Tokyo and Beijing, respectively.

I definitely don't think the city is planning the festivals around our arrivals, but someone is using the festivals as a convenient mask.

Related, is the method always the same? Armored guard, medical personnel, large enough transport for the arrivals, drugged and dumped at a gathering?

Thinking broadly, the people doing the drop offs know how much a problem it would be if a new arrival wasn't taken in by one of the Displaced. Theft, injury, getting caught by the police or UNA, etc. So the safest thing is to make sure the rest of us get to the new arrivals before anyone else does.

If New Amsterdam is our base (so to speak), it makes sense the majority of drop offs would happen here.

The first exception was when, according to the guide, everyone found themselves waking up on a train heading to New Tokyo. The ninth round also happened there. Makes sense if there's no one in New Amsterdam to retrieve people.

The second exception was New Beijing and given how the entries before and after all relate to retrieving Judas, I'm guessing the AI was located in New Beijing? But I'm also guessing not everyone was there either, so why do a drop off there and not New Amsterdam again?

New Tokyo is definitely the strangest considering the sheer amount of coordination needed to move an entire group without anyone realizing it, the people being moved included. I'm going to imagine a lot didn't take kindly to waking up on a train out of the blue.

But this is me thinking broadly with the details I have from the guide. Please correct me if I'm understanding things wrong.

That's what I meant, but I could have worded it better. Current Displaced wake up on a train. The ninth round drop-off happens after. Displaced could have been put on the train to ensure the ninth arrivals had people to rendezvous with.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole dream-sharing thing. I guess it'll make more sense if I ever experience it? Is that a common thing that happens? Or is it something people don't really talk about so it's hard to tell?

I hardly think I'm the first person to try to track the vehicles bringing people in and dropping them off. I think there's value in trying to use upcoming festivals to try to predict where a drop-off might happen to try to find more information.

But do you think there's anything more pertinent to focus on? I know I'm new, but that just means I can I have a lot of directions I could move in.

I stand corrected.

The dreams. When it happens, are you aware it's a dream? What kind of level of lucidity is there? Does the empathy bond still carry over?

No, it's a good course of action. Can't get by without money, need to build enough of a presence to stay hidden, it's how the world goes.

Sorry for all the questions. I appreciate the answers.

Wait, calendar days being rolled back?

how many days did everyone repeat? Were events fixed when things rolled back?

Wow. The guide wasn't kidding when it said the world changed. By the way, define monster? I imagine we're not talking about Bigfoot or something like that.

What the hell.

Are these still a known threat? Not the giant one, but the smaller ones.

Are we talking about normal animal creatures or monster animal creatures?

[personal profile] unlucky7 2019-12-29 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay.

What kind of level of harmless are we talking about? Small animals like squirrels running around with gold eyes, or "don't mind the wolf, it'll leave you alone if you leave it alone."

[Everyone has a different degree of harmless, it's good to establish a baseline.]

Did that happen here or elsewhere?
