What kind of level of harmless are we talking about? Small animals like squirrels running around with gold eyes, or "don't mind the wolf, it'll leave you alone if you leave it alone."
My world was on a similar path for awhile. Took a lot of work to course correct. Don't think things are entirely fixed, but it's better than it could have been.
Among us? Maybe. The problem is our lives keep us busy so something that's not directly harmful can usually be left alone. There's no real reason to play hero when it comes to plants. You know?
I suppose the most common worse case is poison ivy begins growing or allergy season hits hard.
[Or some kind of giant plant abomination begins rolling through the city. She's seen late night movies about that. Could happen, especially with precedence for monsters.]
But I suppose it's something to let it be. It is pretty nice.

That kind of monster.

Are these still a known threat? Not the giant one, but the smaller ones.

There are some creatures that have been slipping in with golden eyes, but they're harmless.

I'm not a fool. I wouldn't call a wolf harmless. I got attacked by a rampaging gorilla once.

Did that happen here or elsewhere?

There may be more trouble beyond the walls, but nothing that's gotten inside.

[That sounds like a fascinating story, but Ginia decides she doesn't know Clarke well enough to ask about it.]
Is there much beyond the walls? Do people head out to go camping or hiking or anything?

It might be a bit of an overreaction, but given the shape the world's in? I can't blame them.

It sucks because I miss the green and the trees out there, though we've been hit pretty hard with it here.

The wild greenery around the city is nice. It's nicer than what I'm used to.

Mostly cities not too unlike this. The kind where everyone is always watched and you avoid the police if they're in the area.

Something changed.

The problem is, we don't know if those things are linked.

No proof of a connection, but I imagine people are wondering anyway.

I have a lot to think over. Thanks.

Good luck with everything. And for better or worse, I've made a habit of sticking around. I'll be here.
