Speaking of, has anyone taken the blood of any recently arrived? Maybe we could isolate the compulsion drug and reverse engineer it to find what it is made from.

By we I mean someone qualified and not me.

It's been done by some Morningstar techs early on, I think? Or some version of it. I'm not sure they were any better at finding the exact compounds. We got some ideas, but it seemed to be completely unique.

Unique, but also? A sedative. Or the sedative was a part of the dose.

So either the compulsion drugs metabolize slower or we're dosed before we wake up from the sedative.

Really wish I could just grab that nurse.

We're dosed on the way here. I think it was clearer for us because we had the accident. I wasn't thinking clearly, and I regret a lot about that very, very first night.

I imagine there is some kind of godly rule behind it. Maybe their power doesn't extend here? Hard to say.

I just think it's more complicated than what we believe.

I think it's less a matter of what they've decided.

It's more a species thing? Science. Connected to the laws of the universe in some way.

Which is honestly about the extent of what I know.

Not quite.

There were people in my galaxy with powers, abilities, whatever you call them. And they were special. My mother believed in them, not as gods but as good people who would do anything for the galaxy.

But when the galaxy needed them most they did nothing.

So, they were special, but they thought they were above other people.

At least that's what it seemed like from their inaction.

Entire planets were hollowed out for resources, enslaved to mine those resources, and they did nothing.

Very special of them.
