He's one of my best friends, but I never found out. We had other things to cover before we even got there.

All of his other friends are, I believe, gone. Or are someone I can't really ask, but I doubt he'd tell them.

How certain are you that they're here?

She just hopes that never happens to her. Is that hypocritical? Perhaps when it comes to these people, who she knows wanted to return.]

Others who've disappeared for weeks have shown back up, with no idea where they were.

Even Poe, after he was gone for months, showed up again. No memories. Same with Marcos.

They're here. They're in the control of whoever had us in the first place. It's the simplest answer that explains the most things.

Rey, it doesn't explain why they show up in their bed when they come back with their memories. Marcos is an exception to the rule. You know that as well as I do.

Two is enough for a pattern.
Someone could be leaving them in their beds.

I disappeared and returned six years older. With the scars to match.

And you were barely gone.
I'd say the people who are still missing have more in common with Poe and Marcos than they do with you.

Why do two people make a pattern but not the countless others?

Because the countless others who went home, or gained more memories, or any of that all came back more quickly.

Only Poe and Marcos disappeared for that much time and came back.
And neither was at home.

[ in fact, poe had ... fewer memories, somehow. this will only complicate her argument, so she doesn't share it :) ]

Connor came back after about the same amount of time.

[ she hadn't heard of that but granted she didn't know connor well. she's at least slowing down for a second. ]

And his memories?

Markus never mentioned him forgetting anything.

What about remembering anything new? Getting older?

No. Not that I recall.

But Connor came back when some other people from his world showed up. We had a lot to cover.

I will say that Connor was always ahead of Markus. He mentioned that to me. And that the new arrivals apparently knew a different version of him. A more ruthless version. There didn't seem to be a discrepancy there between Connor and Markus, however.

None of that suggests that Connor went home when he vanished.
So as long as there's a chance that they're here somewhere, we should be looking for them. We can't just give up on them.

But we don't need to agree on that to agree on stopping by Markus' place to try and find the information Ball left him with.

It's hard to think of him being captured all those times and deposited back without reason.

It's hard to cling to that hope for Bellamy, Murphy, Markus, and Prompto. Especially when some of them are better gone, better in their homes, devoted to their people.]
